Nand Lala & Company

Our office is number 30 inside Rampuriya Katla. If you know the Kote Gate area, you know how crowded it gets. It’s a very old part of town with lots of narrow lanes and shops tucked away. We are right opposite Sadul School. Sometimes we can hear the school bell or the kids playing during their break. The Katla is always full of people moving goods and talking loudly. It’s a very traditional market vibe. Inside the office, we have our desks and chairs and a lot of ledgers. We’ve been here for a long time, so the walls have seen a lot. We deal with various trading tasks every day. It’s a lot of talking to people and writing things down. We don’t have fancy air conditioning, just the ceiling fans that have been there forever. Usually, someone brings in snacks from the market in the afternoon. The stairs up to the office are a bit steep, so you have to be careful. It’s a very busy environment. There is always someone coming in to ask about a price or a delivery. We try to keep track of everything, but in a place like Kote Gate, it’s always a bit chaotic. That’s just how business happens here. We like being in the middle of all that noise and activity at Nand Lala & Company. It keeps us on our toes and the day goes by fast. We finish up around seven or eight.
