The Age School

The Age School is right on Pashapura Road, tucked into Allah Nagar here in Basavakalyan. If you're driving through Bidar, you might miss the turn if you aren't looking for it. It’s a busy little area and there is always something going on outside our gates. The building itself has been part of the neighborhood for a bit. We spend a lot of time just keeping the place tidy and making sure the rooms are ready before the first bell rings. It’s a mix of different ages of kids running around, which makes the hallways quite loud at times. I usually get here early to open up the main doors. We have some trees near the entrance that give a bit of shade when the sun is really hitting the road hard. The staff rooms are usually cluttered with notebooks and pens, which is pretty normal for any school in this part of Basavakalyan. We don't have those big glass offices you see in city schools, just wooden desks and old cupboards. Parents often stop by on their way to work to check on things or pay fees. It’s a very local feel, everyone knows everyone else’s name. There’s always a bit of mud on the floor during the monsoon season, and we just mop it up as we go. It’s not about being fancy, it's just about having a place for the local kids to be. We just focus on the daily stuff, like making sure the chalk is stocked.
