Gujjamma Education Trust'S Gilrs Education Degree College

Running a girls' college in Bhalki comes with its own set of daily tasks that keep us pretty busy. We are located right near R.E.C. on the Humanabad Road, which is a fairly well-known spot for anyone living around here. The college is part of the Gujjamma Education Trust, and we focus on degree courses for the girls in this part of Bidar. It’s a plain building, nothing too flashy, but it does the job for the lectures and the labs. Every morning, you see the students coming in from the nearby villages and the town, some walking and some taking the bus that drops them near the main road. The classrooms have high ceilings to keep things a bit cooler during the hot months, though it still gets warm by midday. We spend a lot of time making sure the paperwork is in order and that the schedule for the degree exams is pinned up on the notice board. There is a small area where students sit during their free time, usually talking about their classes or sharing food. It isn’t a corporate environment where everything is polished; it’s more of a practical place where learning happens. The staff room is always full of notebooks and tea cups, and we just try to keep things moving forward day by day. It’s important for the families here to have a place like this close to home. We just try to keep the classrooms clean and the library stocked.
