About Shri Brahmani Marble & Kota Stone – Building & Construction Material in Bhuj
Our yard is right on the Highway Road in Kukma, just across from the Haji Peer Dargah. It’s a dusty place, mostly because of all the marble and Kota stone we keep out front. If you’re driving toward Bhuj, you can’t really miss the big stacks of grey and white stone. We’ve been here in Navavaas for a good bit of time now. Working with stone is heavy work. My hands are always rough from moving the slabs around. We get different sizes in, some for floors and some for stairs. People come by from the nearby villages when they’re building a new house. We talk, they look at the patterns, and we figure out what fits. It isn’t a fancy showroom with lights. It’s just us under the sun, moving heavy pieces with the crane or sometimes by hand if they’re small. The wind blows a lot out here, which makes the dust worse. Sometimes the rain makes the yard a bit of a mess, but the stone doesn’t mind. My family helps out a lot. We know which stone lasts and which one cracks if you aren't careful. Shri Brahmani Marble & Kota Stone isn't some huge corporation. We’re just local people selling stone to our neighbors. It’s a simple business. We close up when it gets dark and start again when the sun comes up. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
