We’ve been here in Vss. Nagar for quite a long time now. It’s a busy part of Bhubaneswar, so there is always noise from the street outside our building. Being the Institute of Hotel Management means we spend most of our hours teaching people how to actually run things. It’s not just sitting in a classroom. We are down in the kitchens or at the front desk area most of the day. The building itself is just a regular place, nothing too fancy to look at from the outside. We have our offices and the practical rooms where the real work happens. Sometimes the plumbing acts up or we run out of supplies, but that’s just how it goes when you’re running a school. We don’t have a big team of people writing fancy ads. We just focus on the students and making sure they know how to handle a real hotel job. The staff here has been around the industry for years, so we know it’s not always glamorous. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and dealing with people. We keep things simple and honest. If you come by, you’ll probably see us in the middle of a lesson or fixing something that broke. It’s a practical place for practical people. We aren't trying to be the most famous school in the world, just a good one for the folks here in Odisha. Our Principal and the rest of us just keep the place running day by day.
