It’s a bit of a residential spot, which we actually prefer. It keeps things from getting too loud or hectic. We’ve been here for a while, and the neighbors all know who we are. The hotel isn't one of those high-rise buildings you see downtown. It’s a more modest setup. We have a small staff of local people who help out with everything. We do the cleaning, we fix the lights, and we make sure the guests are settled in. It’s not always perfect. Sometimes a fan stops working or we’re waiting on a supply delivery, but we just deal with it. We aren't trying to be a fancy luxury brand. We just want to provide a decent place for people to stay when they are in Bhubaneswar. Most of our guests are regulars or people who heard about us from someone else. We don't spend money on big ads or anything like that. We just focus on the daily chores and making sure the place stays tidy. You can usually find one of us hanging around the front entrance or working in the back. It’s an honest local business and we’re just happy to be part of the Khandagiri community. We take things as they come and keep moving forward.
