Mahima Marbles

We’ve been here at Plot No-725 in Bomikhal for a while now. Cuttak Road is always noisy, but you get used to it after a few weeks. The shop, Mahima Marbles, is basically just a big open space where we keep the stock. It’s not fancy at all. There is marble dust on the floor and on our clothes by noon every single day. People come by asking for different sizes, and we spend a lot of time just moving slabs around so they can see the patterns. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to work outside, especially when it rains and the ground gets muddy. But we keep at it. Most of our neighbors are also doing their own things, so there is a lot of back and forth with the trucks. We don't have a big office or anything, just a small desk where we keep the papers and a few chairs for when people need to sit down. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we try to get the heavy loading done early if we can. My hands are usually pretty rough from handling the stone, but that is just part of the job. We see a lot of the same faces from around the area coming in to check what we have in the yard. It’s just a regular day-to-day business here on the road, and there is nothing too complicated about how we run things.
