Gnanambikai Matriculation School

Over in Shiksha Vihar on the Chandaka Khurda Road, you will find Gnanambikai Matriculation School. We are based in the Bomikhal area of Bhubaneshwar. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but it’s a good location for a school. We have been working here for quite a while now. The school day starts pretty early and the staff is usually here before the sun is fully up to get things ready. We have a lot of different classrooms and a space where the kids can run around a bit during their break. It’s not a perfect place, some of the walls could use a fresh coat of paint and the bells are a bit too loud sometimes. But the students don't seem to mind much. We spend a lot of our time just managing the daily flow of people. We have to make sure the lessons are on time and that everyone is following the schedule. It takes a lot of coordination between the teachers and the office. We don't have a big corporate office telling us what to do, we just figure it out ourselves. It’s a very hands-on way to run a school. We know the local shopkeepers and the parents who live nearby. It’s a community feeling more than anything else. We just want to keep the school running well for the kids who come here every day. The rainy season usually means we have to watch for leaks in the roof.
