Gnanajyothi High School

If you head out towards Rasulgarh, you can find Gnanajyothi High School at 376/267 in Janla, Gangapada. We are a bit further out from the main city center of Bhubaneshwar, which gives us a little more space. The school has been around for a bit and we’ve slowly added things to the building as we could afford it. It’s a high school, so the students are a bit more grown up and focused on their future. We spend our mornings checking the attendance and getting the lessons started. The area around here is still developing, so sometimes the roads are a bit dusty or under construction. Inside the walls, though, we try to keep things orderly and quiet enough for people to learn. Our desks are a bit old but they are still good for writing on. We don’t have any fancy mission statements on the walls. We just want the kids to pass their exams and learn some useful things. The teachers live nearby mostly, so they know the families in Gangapada well. We have to deal with the usual stuff like power cuts or running out of supplies, but we just handle it as it comes. It is a very normal school life. We put in a lot of hours to make sure the place stays open and the students have what they need. It’s a simple way of living and working for us. We keep a small garden in the back.
