We are out in Prashanti Vihar, over in the Kausalya Ganga area of Old Bhubaneshwar. The address is Pubasasan, and it is a part of town that has been growing quite a bit lately. The school building is a plain structure that fits right into the neighborhood. We have various classrooms for the different ages of children who come here. Every morning, the gates are a bit of a mess with all the cycles and parents dropping kids off. Once everyone is inside, the day settles into a rhythm. We have teachers who are focused on the textbooks and making sure everyone stays on track with their work. The walls are mostly bare, except for some student drawings here and there. It is not a corporate-style institution; it is more like a community spot. We have a lot of stairs, and the kids are always moving up and down between their lessons. During lunch, the whole place smells like the different tiffins everyone brings from home. It is a very ordinary, local atmosphere. We don't have a lot of big events, just the regular cycle of tests and lessons. The building gets a bit worn out from all the use, but we do our best to keep it functional. It is just a place where kids come to learn and then head home in the afternoon.
