National Research Centre For Women In Agricultue

The National Research Centre For Women In Agriculture is currently operating out of a space at Mr. Loknath Behera’s place. We are located at Quarter Number 4R/1 in Unit 8 of the G.G.P. Colony, which is near Gopabandhu. It is a research-focused environment where we spend a lot of time thinking about how to help women who work in the fields. Agriculture is such a huge part of life here, and we noticed that the specific needs of women often get overlooked. So, we gather data, look at different farming methods, and try to find ways to make their work a bit easier or more productive. The office itself is quite modest since it is part of a residential colony. You will often find us surrounded by reports, charts, and samples from different farms. We are not a corporate office with a lobby; we are a group of researchers and staff members who care about the soil and the people who till it. Mr. Behera has been kind enough to host us here in Unit 8. We often walk around the colony during our breaks and talk to the locals about what they are growing in their own gardens. It is a very hands-on type of place. We don't use a lot of big words or fancy theories. We just look at the practical side of farming and see how we can improve things for the women out there doing the hard work every single day.
