Vivek Engineering Works

Our workshop is tucked away in Ramesh Nagar. If you look behind the Shri Guru Singh Sabha Gurudwara, you’ll find Vivek Engineering Works at Fac 22. It’s a busy little corner of the neighborhood. Usually, there is a lot of noise coming from the machines. We have been working here for a long time, and the floor is pretty much covered in metal shavings and oil most of the day. It’s not the cleanest place, but that is what happens when you are making things all day long. We start early in the morning before the traffic gets too bad on the main road. The Gurudwara is a good landmark because everyone knows where it is. Sometimes people get lost trying to find the back lane, but once they hear the sounds of the engineering tools, they know they are close. We do a lot of repairs and custom jobs. It gets hot in the summer with all the equipment running. We keep the shutters up to let some air in. My hands are usually dirty from the grease. We don't have a big office or anything, just the workspace where the actual labor happens. It is a solid, honest place to work. We just focus on getting the tasks done one by one. The tea stall nearby keeps us going through the afternoon slumps. We just get on with the work that needs doing for our local customers.
