S.V.Polytechnic Collegebhopal M.P is situated up on Shyamala Hills in Bhopal. Because of the location on the hill, we actually get a bit of a view, and the air feels a little fresher than down in the main city. The building is a typical polytechnic structure with long corridors and heavy doors. You can often hear the sound of machines or tools coming from the mechanical workshops, which echoes a bit in the hallways. It’s a place where things are very hands-on. Students come from all over Madhya Pradesh, and you can hear a mix of accents in the canteen. The furniture is mostly metal and wood, built to last a long time rather than to look stylish. We have a lot of old charts on the walls showing different engineering parts and diagrams. The climb up Shyamala Hills can be a bit much if you’re walking, but most students take the bus or have their own bikes. The office is usually a bit disorganized with stacks of paper and old records, but the people working there eventually find what they need. We don't have a lot of fancy landscaping, just some local trees and the natural slope of the hill. It’s a practical, no-nonsense environment where the day starts early and ends with everyone rushing back down the hill to get home. It has been a landmark in Bhopal for quite some years now.
