Being on the third floor means we get a bit of a view of the chaos down on the street, though usually we’re too busy to look out the window. M P Nagar is the center of everything in Bhopal, so it’s always loud and full of energy. Getting up to the third floor can be a workout if the lift is being moody, which happens occasionally. Inside, the office is pretty basic. We have a few desks and a lot of filing cabinets. It’s a place meant for working, not for looking fancy. We spend most of our hours calculating figures and trying to make sense of new regulations. It’s not glamorous, but it’s what we do. We don't have a team of receptionists or a big lobby. It’s usually just us and the sound of the ceiling fan. Most people who come to see us are looking for help with their taxes or business accounts. We just sit down, look at the papers, and try to help them out as best as we can. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but we have a cooler that does its best to keep up.
