Our business, Shri Acchal Buildcon Private Limited, is located at House Number 85 in Sidharth Lake City, which is in the Anand Nagar part of Bhopal. It’s a nice area to be in, especially with the lake nearby, though we spend most of our time looking at concrete rather than water. We moved into this spot because it's central to where a lot of the new building is happening. My dad used to say that a house is only as good as the person who put the bricks together, and we try to remember that every day. We don't have a fancy reception or a secretary to answer the phones. Usually, if you call, you’ll just get one of us while we're out on a site or driving the truck. Working in Bhopal has its challenges, especially with the heat in May and June. We try to keep the workers hydrated and take breaks when the sun is at its peak. Our projects are mostly local homes and some small commercial spots around Anand Nagar. We’ve seen this neighborhood grow from almost nothing to a busy part of the city. It’s satisfying to look around and see a roof we put up or a wall we built a few years back. We aren't interested in being some huge corporation. We just like building things and seeing the families move in once the paint is dry. It’s a simple life, but it’s good.
