Kailash Pustak Sadan

Kailash Pustak Sadan is located on Hamidia Road at Plot No 30. We are quite close to the Punjab Boot House, which is a good landmark if you are coming into the Peer Gate area. It is one of those parts of town that is always crowded and full of energy. The shop itself is filled with books from floor to ceiling. Sometimes it feels like the paper might take over the whole room. We spend a lot of time organizing the stacks because people are always pulling things out to take a look. Being in the Peer Gate area means there is a lot of history around us, and the buildings reflect that. Our spot on Hamidia Road gets a lot of foot traffic. You hear the sounds of horns and people talking all day long. It is just a basic shop where we try to keep things running smoothly. We don't have any corporate office or anything like that, it is just us behind the counter. Most of the people who come in are locals who have known the shop for years. We open up early and don't head home until late. There is always work to be done, whether it is checking new arrivals or just tidying up the front. It is a bit dusty sometimes because of the road, but that is part of being here. We just like having a place where books are the main thing. It is a simple life and it works well for us.
