You can find Gurunanak Dal Mill over in Heera Ganj, specifically on Robert Line in the Madhav Nagar area. It’s a busy neighborhood, and we’ve been part of it for a long time. Our work is pretty straightforward—we take in raw lentils and process them into dal. The machines are old and they make a lot of noise, but they’ve never let us down. The air inside the mill is always a bit thick with dust, so we usually have the big doors wide open to get a breeze through. We have a small team of guys who handle the heavy lifting. It’s a lot of carrying 50-kilo bags from the trucks to the grinders. I usually sit near the front to handle the customers and keep track of the bags going out. We don't have a fancy office or any air conditioning. We just have our machines and our warehouse space. Sometimes the rain causes issues with the old roof, and we have to scramble to move the stock, but that’s just part of life here. We don't spend money on big signs or ads; our reputation in Madhav Nagar is enough to keep us going. It’s a lot of repetitive work, day after day, but there's a certain rhythm to it that we like. We just try to do an honest day's work and keep our customers happy without any extra drama.
