Shiv Iron Store

We’ve been here in Sampla for quite a while now. If you’re heading down the Main Delhi Road, you’ll see our place right near the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. It’s mostly just us handling iron rods, sheets, and whatever else people need for building things around here. The shop isn’t fancy at all. Most days it’s just dusty and full of heavy metal clanging around. We open up early because the trucks start moving before the sun is even fully up. Sometimes the traffic outside the stadium gets a bit much, but we’re used to it by now. People just stop their bikes or trucks right out front and ask if we have a certain size of pipe or some specific angle iron in stock. We go back into the yard, find what they need, and load it up. It’s hard work on the hands, especially in the summer when the metal gets hot enough to burn if you aren’t careful with your gloves. We don't spend much time on computers or fancy filing systems. Everything is written down in a ledger mostly. It's just a regular iron store. We know most of the guys who come in by name because they’ve been building houses in this area for years. If we don’t have something, we just tell you. No point in making things complicated. It’s just how we run things here on the side of the highway.
