K.N. Sr. Sec. School

K.N. Sr. Sec. School is situated on Ghikara Road in Charkhi Dadri. If you’re familiar with the Charkhi area, you know it’s a place that’s grown quite a bit recently. Our school stays busy from the early hours until the sun starts to go down. The students range from the little ones just starting out to the older kids finishing their senior secondary years. The Ghikara Road can be quite bumpy, so the school buses have a bit of a rough ride coming in. The school compound is surrounded by a high wall, and inside there are a few blocks of classrooms. We have some trees that provide a bit of shade during the hot afternoons, which is where the staff usually parks their scooters. The hallway floors are made of grey stone that stays cool even when it’s boiling outside. It’s a very local atmosphere here. You’ll see parents waiting outside the gates in the afternoon, talking to each other while they wait for their children. We don’t put on many shows; we just focus on the daily lessons and making sure the kids have their books. The desks are the old-fashioned kind, made of heavy wood. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just open the windows wider. It’s just a normal part of life here in Charkhi Dadri, and we’ve been part of it for a long time.
