Varun Bricks

We started Varun Bricks a while back near the Haripura Chauraha. It’s right by the State Bank of India, so most people know where we are. We spend most of our days out in the yard dealing with the clay and the kilns. It’s dirty work but someone has to do it. We've seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. Some days the weather makes things hard, like when it rains too much and the bricks won't dry. We just keep going though. It’s a family thing, mostly. We aren't trying to be the biggest place around, just consistent. People come by from Haripura and the surrounding spots when they're building something new. We usually have someone around at the post office side if we aren't at the main site. The dust is everywhere, and our clothes usually show it by noon. That's just how it is here. We focus on the basics of making a decent brick that holds up. No fancy talk or anything. If you head towards the chauraha, you'll see us. We've been at this long enough to know the routine. Sometimes the batches come out better than others, but we try to keep it steady. It's a lot of manual labor, loading and unloading trucks throughout the week. We keep things pretty simple at Varun Bricks and just try to get the orders ready for whoever needs them locally. Sometimes the kiln takes longer to heat up than we expect, and we just have to wait it out while drinking some tea.
