Shivam Bricks

We are Shivam Bricks, located in Mod Ka Nimbahera Village. Our place is right near the post office and the main road, so it’s not too hard to spot our yard when you are coming through Asind Taluka. We have been making bricks here for quite a while now. It is mostly just us out in the sun, getting the clay ready and firing the kiln throughout the day. The heat can get pretty bad in the afternoons, but that is just part of the job. We don't have a big fancy office or a lot of workers, just a few of us doing the heavy lifting and stacking. Sometimes the trucks arrive late and we just sit around drinking tea until they are ready to be loaded up. The dust gets on everything, our clothes and the small shed we use, but that is how it goes with brick making. We try to finish up as much as we can before the rainy season starts because the wet weather really messes with the drying process. It is a quiet life here in the village for the most part. Most people around the Asind area know where we are since we are so close to the main road. We do not spend time on computers or doing much paperwork, we just focus on the bricks and making sure they are solid for the local builders. It is hard work but it is what we do.
