Out here in Chitra Gidc, things move at their own pace. Shree Ambica Acid Chemicals is at Plot No. 342/2, which is easy enough to find once you’re in the area. We deal with acids and chemicals, so it’s a lot of plastic drums and safety gear. The smell is something you never really forget, though we don't even notice it much anymore. It’s a serious kind of workplace because you have to be careful where you step and what you touch. We aren't a big multi-national company with hundreds of employees in fancy uniforms. We’re just a small crew that knows the business well. The sun beats down on the yard, and the chemical drums can get quite hot to the touch in the afternoon. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading, making sure everything is labeled and sitting where it belongs. It’s not a place for sitting around and chatting, though we do take our tea breaks under the shade near the gate when we get a chance. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit overwhelming with all the regulations, but that’s just part of the deal when you work with these materials. We’ve been in Chitra for years now and seen the estate change quite a bit. Despite the changes, our daily routine stays pretty much the same. We just focus on getting the chemicals moved out to the people who need them and keeping the yard in decent shape for the next morning.
