Sai Food & Spices

Out here at Plot No. 8- 9 in Village Nesvad, things move at a bit of a slower pace than they do in the city. Sai Food & Spices is located on the Savarkundla Road, which is a main route through the area. Being in Vijayanagar gives us plenty of space to handle our food and spices. Most of our work involves sorting through raw materials and getting them ready for processing. You can always smell the spices in the air when you get close to our plot. It is a very natural environment. We deal with the seasons as they come. When it’s harvest time, we are extremely busy and when it’s the monsoon, we have to be careful about keeping everything dry. It is a very practical, hands-on kind of job. We don't wear fancy clothes or sit in air-conditioned rooms all day. We are usually out there on the floor making sure the quality is what it should be. The village setting is nice because we know everyone around here and people often stop by to chat. We just focus on the basics. We want the spices to be clean and the food to be fresh. That’s really all there is to it. It’s hard work and the days are long, but we like being part of the local community here in Nesvad. We just do our work.
