Amee Steel Works

Amee Steel Works is located at No. B/3 in the Ukhsagar Complex. We are right by Bhagawadi Park in the Kaliyabid area. It’s a nice enough spot, and sometimes you can see people walking their dogs in the park while we are busy inside with the steel. Our workspace is usually filled with the sound of hammers and saws. Steel is heavy and stubborn, so we spend a lot of our time just moving pieces around and making sure the measurements are right. The shop isn't very large, so we have to be organized, or you can't even walk across the floor. We’ve got a couple of old workbenches that have seen better days, but they’re solid. We don't bother with fancy titles or corporate structures here. Everyone just does what needs doing, whether that’s grinding down a rough edge or loading up the delivery rickshaw. The light in the morning is actually quite good through the front door, which helps when we’re doing more detailed work. We aren't trying to be the biggest steel shop in the world. We just like the feeling of finishing a project and seeing it go out the door. It’s a local business and we know a lot of the neighbors by name. We just keep things plain and simple, focusing on the metal in front of us. There’s always plenty of work to keep us occupied from morning until night.
