Narmada Marble

Our spot is in Phase 2 of the GIDC at Plot No. I, 4/2. If you’ve ever been to an industrial estate, you know what it’s like. Lots of trucks, lots of noise, and everyone is busy doing their own thing. We focus on marble here. We have rows of slabs lined up, and we spend a good part of the day moving them around so we can find the right one for a customer. Marble is different from granite; it’s a bit more delicate to handle, so we have to be a bit more careful with the forklift. The air in the shop always smells a bit like wet stone because we use water to keep the dust down while cutting. We aren't a corporate showroom. Most people who come here are wearing work boots and are ready to look at stone in the rough. We don't have air conditioning in the main area, so it gets hot in the afternoons. We usually have a small radio playing in the background to keep things from being too quiet. The guys here have a lot of experience picking out good pieces of marble. We just show you what we have and tell you the price. There’s no pressure or anything. We’ve been part of this GIDC area for a long time and we like the community of businesses here. It can be a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to the trucks, but we've been here so long that it feels like home. We don't have a dedicated sales team.
