About Jay Vishwakarma Engineering Works – Engineering in Bharuch
You can find our workshop on Station Road in Amod, right across from the Modi Oil Mill. If you smell the oil, you’re in the right place. We’ve been operating here for a long time, doing all kinds of engineering and repair work. The shop is full of lathes, welding machines, and piles of scrap metal that we might need someday. It’s a loud place with sparks flying and the sound of hammers hitting iron. We don't have an office with air conditioning; we just have a small desk in the corner with a calendar and some old ledgers. Most of our work comes from the local farmers or the guys running the nearby mills. They bring us broken parts and we try to get them working again so they don’t lose a day of labor. We’ve got grease under our fingernails most of the time, and our work clothes have seen better days. It’s honest work, and we take it as it comes. Sometimes we stay late when a job is urgent, and other times we close up early if the power goes out. We aren't a big factory, just a local engineering shop where we fix things that are broken. It’s been this way since my father started the place. We just keep the machines running and help out the neighbors when their equipment fails them. It's a living and it keeps us occupied throughout the week.
