Working at Suraj Dye Chem means getting used to the specific smells of the GIDC estate in Ankleshwar. Our spot is at Plot No. 1106, right in the thick of it. It’s an industrial life through and through. We spend most of our time dealing with barrels and bags of materials. The sun hits the metal roof of the warehouse pretty hard in the summer, making it a bit of a sweatbox, but the work doesn't stop. We have a routine that hasn't changed much over the years. We check the stock, handle the mixing or the storage, and wait for the transport trucks to back into the loading area. The driveway is a bit bumpy, and we’ve been meaning to fix it, but there’s always something more urgent to do. It’s a family-run kind of vibe even if we have several staff members. We eat lunch together in the small break area, usually talking about the news or how the local cricket team is doing. There’s a lot of paperwork involved with chemicals, so the desk in the front office is always buried under folders and forms. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. If people need us, they usually just call the landline or show up at the gate. It’s honest work, and we’ve been at it long enough that we don't know any other way. It's just a regular part of the Ankleshwar industrial landscape.
