Ss Stone

Ss Stone is located right in the middle of things at Kothi No.1 Gandhi Sewa Sadan Bayana Ka Rasta Johari Bazar. If you know the Johari Bazar area, you know it is always crowded and the streets are narrow. Our place is in an old building, a kothi that has been there forever. We deal with stones all day long, so there is usually a thin layer of white dust on the floor and the windows. It’s heavy work, moving these pieces around, and we don't really have the space for big machines, so a lot of it is done by hand or with small tools. The guys are always busy cutting or checking the edges. We get people walking in from the bazaar all the time, looking for something specific for their homes. The light inside isn't great, but it works for what we do. We have been at this address for a long time, and the walls show it. It’s loud out on the street with the rickshaws and the tourists, but once you step inside the kothi, it’s a bit different, though still busy. We don't spend money on fancy signs or advertising. Word of mouth usually brings people to Bayana Ka Rasta. We just focus on the stones and making sure the pieces are what they need to be. It’s a bit cramped, but we make it work every single day.
