You can find us over at Ritesh Kumar’s place in Makandpur. We are part of the Rannuchak area near Nathnagar. Jeevan Jagriti Krishak Producer Company Limited isn't some big operation with a fancy office building. It’s mostly run out of a few rooms where we keep our supplies and do the accounts. Ritesh has been generous with the space, though it gets a bit cramped when more than five people show up at once. We started this because we were tired of having nowhere to go when we had extra produce to sell. It’s a very local thing. Most of the guys involved live within walking distance of the office. We don't have any formal uniforms or a big staff. It’s just us farmers wearing our everyday clothes, trying to figure out the best way to move our crops. The internet in Makandpur can be pretty slow, so we still do a lot of things the old-fashioned way with pens and paper. Sometimes the cows from the neighbor's yard wander over and we have to shoo them away while we’re talking to someone. It’s not a perfect setup, but it’s ours. We spend our days checking the fields and making sure the seeds are ready for the next planting. It’s a lot of work and the sun is hot, but we’re used to it. We just want to make sure our families are taken care of.
