Mahavir Bricks

Being right here near the National Highway-5 in Charampa means there is always noise from the traffic passing by. Our yard sits close to the Bhadrak Naya Bazar, so it stays busy around here from morning until the sun goes down. Most of our days are spent checking the kilns and making sure the loaders are working right. It gets pretty dusty with the wind coming off the highway, but we are used to it by now. We aren't a big corporation with people in suits; we are just the folks you see in the yard with dirt on our clothes. Sometimes the traffic makes it a bit of a headache to get the delivery trucks out onto the main road, but we find a way. We’ve seen the area around Naya Bazar change a lot over the years, with new shops opening up. We just stick to our corner and keep the bricks moving. A lot of local builders stop in because they know exactly where we are located. We don’t do much talking, mostly just working. The stacks of bricks can get pretty high, and we have to be careful when the weather turns bad. It’s a simple life here in Charampa. We just show up, do the work, and go home. If you need to find us, just look for the red piles near the highway turnoff. There’s always someone around to help if you walk in.
