M/A Bidyut Prava Fly Ash Bricks

Down in Village Batol, near the station, is where we have our brick yard. It’s part of Tehsil Chandabali and it’s a quiet enough place most of the time, except for when the trains go by. We’ve been making fly ash bricks here for a good while. The process isn't complicated but it takes a lot of time and effort to get it right. We spend our days out in the yard, stacking bricks and making sure they cure properly. The weather is a big factor for us; if it’s too humid or too dry, we have to adjust what we're doing. It’s mostly local workers from around the village who help out. We’re not a big company with a board of directors or anything like that. It’s just us and the bricks. We have a small office near the entrance, but you’ll usually find us out by the machines. People come by from the neighboring villages when they’re planning to build a shed or a new wall. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment, just what we need to get the job done. Life here moves at its own pace. We start early to beat the heat and usually finish up before it gets too dark. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy throughout the year, even when things are slow. We’ve been here a long time and plan to stay.
