Our office is in a building called Vijaya Nilaya, situated on 5th Cross in Konena Agrahara. It’s right off Airport Road in Bangalore 17. Being near the Airport Road means we are always in the middle of the city’s movement. You can hear the traffic and the general hum of the city all day long. Vijaya Nilaya is a plain building, and we use one of the spaces there to handle our news operations. It’s not a flashy studio like you might see on TV. It’s more of a practical workspace where people sit with their computers and phones. We’ve been here for a good while and have seen how much the area around Konena Agrahara has developed. It used to be a lot different, but now it’s a major hub. We don’t really have any fancy decorations or anything like that. We just have what we need to get the news sorted out and sent where it needs to go. The 5th Cross is a bit quieter than the main road, which is a relief. We spend our days tracking stories and talking to people. It’s busy work, but we like the pace of it. Sometimes we stay late when things are happening, but that’s just the nature of the job. We’ve gotten to know the small tea shops nearby pretty well over the years. It’s just a regular office for regular people doing their jobs in a busy city.
