Laxmi Electronics Moulds Precision Eng. Pvt. Ltd. is located at 81 in the EPIIP Area of Whitefield. Whitefield has changed a lot with all the new malls, but this industrial pocket still feels like the old days. We have heavy machines for making moulds and doing precision engineering work. The floor is usually covered in a bit of metal shavings or oil, even though we try to sweep it once in the morning and once at night. It’s a loud environment when the CNC machines are running. You usually have to shout to be heard over the drone of the motors. Most of us wear heavy boots and clothes that get stained with grease pretty quickly. We handle a lot of heavy metal blocks that come in on trucks and finished parts that go out to electronics companies. The office part is just a small section partitioned off with some thick glass that vibrates when the big machines are at full speed. We don't have a front desk or a receptionist; usually, someone just walks out from the back if they hear someone at the gate. The traffic getting into the EPIIP area is a nightmare every morning, so we all start quite early to avoid the worst of the jam. Lunch is usually brought from home and eaten at the small tables near the back. We focus on the blueprints given to us and make sure the moulds are exactly right. It’s honest work with a lot of measuring and cutting.
