Down here in Nagai district, specifically in Kariyapattinam, we have been running things for a good while. Our shop is right on the Main Road, so it is easy to spot if you are passing through Vedaraniyam. It’s a small town vibe where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We mostly handle things related to cooling and electrical stuff which is very important with the South India sun beating down most months. It gets incredibly humid near the coast, so people are always coming in asking about their machines. We aren't a big city operation with shiny glass walls. It’s just a regular shop with some tools and parts scattered around. We speak the local language and treat people with a bit of respect. If someone has a problem with their appliance, they bring it over and we take a look. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or corporate rules that don't make sense. We just try to fix what is broken. Sometimes the parts take a few days to arrive from the city, but folks here are patient. We sit out front sometimes when it’s quiet and watch the traffic go by on the main road. It is a simple way to make a living but it keeps us busy. Being at 5/203 has been good for us. We know the neighbors and they know where to find us when things go wrong. It’s just how things go for us.
