You can find Vivek Gifts & Novelties at 6-A on the 1st Floor, near the ICICI bank on the 5th Cross of Lakshmi Road. Being in Sampangiram Nagar means we get a lot of local residents coming by. Since we are on the first floor, you have to look up a bit or see our sign by the stairs. It’s a bit quieter up there than being right on the pavement. We have a variety of items, mostly things you’d call novelties or small gifts. We have things for kids and also some stuff for housewarmings or birthdays. The shop isn't huge, but the first-floor space gives us enough room to display things clearly. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. Most people find us because they live nearby or they’re going to the bank next door. We like the neighborhood; it has a regular feel to it. We spend our time dusting the shelves and talking to the people who walk in. Some days are very slow, especially when it rains, but we just stay open and wait. It’s a straightforward business. We buy things we think people will like and put them out for sale. There isn't much more to it than that. If you're walking down Lakshmi Road, just look for the ICICI and you’ll find the stairs leading up to us. We stay until the evening.
