You can find us on the 4th floor of a building in BEML Layout. It’s number 1130. Being on the top floor means we get a bit of a breeze when the windows are open, which is nice during the summer months in Bangalore South. The lift is a bit slow and sometimes sounds like it’s thinking twice about moving, so a few of us just take the stairs to get our steps in for the day. The layout around here is mostly residential, so it’s pretty peaceful compared to the main roads. Inside our space, things are a bit cluttered. We have cables running along the floor and stacks of notebooks that we’ve filled up over the months. It isn’t the kind of place you’d see in a magazine, but it’s where we do our thing. We spend a lot of time looking at screens, so we try to take breaks and look out at the rooftops nearby. There’s a small shop around the corner that sells good biscuits, and that’s basically our fuel for the afternoon. We don’t have a big sign or anything fancy outside. Most people just know us as the folks on the 4th floor. It’s a simple setup. We like that we can just come in, do the work, and not worry about looking corporate or following some strict rules. It’s just a bunch of us trying to make something work in a quiet corner of the city.
