Vikatan Group

Vikatan Group is based out of Sunflower Apartments, right in the Ceebros Gardens complex in Virugambakkam. We are in No.1 B on Arcot Road, and the Vembuliamman Temple is just a short walk away. Being near the temple means we hear the bells and the morning prayers sometimes, which is a nice way to start the day in Chennai. The office is inside an apartment, so it doesn't feel like those cold, tall buildings you see in the IT parks. It feels like a home. We have our desks set up in the different rooms, and there is always a pot of tea going in the kitchen area. Arcot Road is always jammed with traffic, so we usually hear the buses and bikes rushing by outside our windows. We’ve been working from this spot for quite a while now. We do a lot of different things here, mostly focusing on our publications and media stuff, but it’s all handled by a small team that knows each other well. We don’t use a lot of fancy titles or have big board meetings. Most of our decisions happen over a quick chat in the hallway or while we’re waiting for the elevator. It’s a busy life, and sometimes the deadlines get a bit stressful, but we like the work. We just keep our heads down and try to produce something worth reading.
