Vijay Raheja Design Construction

Vijay Raheja Design Construction is based out of 104 Soven Apartments in Shakti Nagar, over in the Kalyan Nagar part of Bangalore. It is a residential kind of area, so it stays a bit calmer than the main commercial hubs. We use one of the apartments as our main workspace. You will usually find a lot of rolled-up drawings and stacks of building materials samples lying around the tables. We spend a lot of time talking to contractors and checking on how things are going at different sites across the city. Construction in Bangalore is always a bit of a challenge with the rain and the logistics of getting trucks through narrow streets. We don't have a big marketing team or anything. It is mostly just us looking at floor plans and making sure the measurements are right. Sometimes we stay late when a project is in the middle of a big phase. The neighbors know us as the people who are always carrying blueprints in and out. It is a small team, so everyone knows what everyone else is doing. We don't have fancy office furniture, just sturdy desks that can hold the weight of heavy folders and computers. We just focus on the building part and making sure the designs actually work in real life. It is a practical way to run a business and it works for us. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
