We've been at Basappa Layout in Virat Nagar for a good while now. It’s a busy spot. Most mornings start with the sound of the gates opening and the smell of coffee from the shop down the street. We handle a lot of apparel here. There's always piles of fabric stacked up in the corner, and someone is usually rushing around with a tape measure. It isn't a fancy place, just a workspace where we get things done. Some days are quieter than others, but mostly it's a lot of cutting and checking pieces. We know the neighbors pretty well by now. If you walk past Virat Nagar, you'll see us. The lighting inside isn't the best, but we've got enough windows to see what we're doing. It gets a bit dusty with all the threads flying around. We don't really do big meetings or anything like that. We just come in, look at what needs finishing, and start working. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to wait for the repair guy, which gives us a chance to step outside for a bit. It’s just how it goes. We started small and stayed here because it works for us. The floor is a bit uneven in the back, but we’ve learned where to step. People know where to find us if they need anything made. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with the orders coming in from the city. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make clothes.
