Shoppers Stop

If you head behind the Ramanna Water Tank in Peenya 2nd Stage, you’ll find Shoppers Stop at 161 on 4th B Cross. It’s an industrial sort of area, so there are always trucks moving around and people hauling heavy crates. We handle a lot of stock here. It’s not the flashy part of the business you see in the big malls with all the lights. This is where the real work happens, moving boxes and keeping track of what’s coming in and what’s going out. The dust can get a bit much during the dry season, but we keep the floors swept as best we can. Most of us here wear comfortable shoes because we’re on our feet all day on the hard concrete. It’s a simple setup with high ceilings and metal racks filled with goods. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning in every corner; we mostly just use big fans to keep the air moving so it's not too stuffy. Lunch is usually a quick affair in the break room where we all share whatever we brought from home in our tins. We know the other business owners on the street, and we often help each other out if someone’s truck is blocking the way. It’s a hardworking environment, and we don't have time for a lot of meetings or polish. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure nothing gets lost in the warehouse.
