Ventkataraman Associates. Let's talk about the office in Langford Town. The old desks, the stacks of files. People come here when they have problems with their property or taxes. It’s not a fancy place with glass walls. We have a ceiling fan that makes a bit of noise sometimes. My father started things here and I just kept it going. We know the neighbors. Nagpada has changed a lot but we stay here. Usually, someone is in by ten. We drink a lot of tea while looking at papers. It's mostly just sitting and talking through what needs to be done for a client. Sometimes it’s slow, other times we can't see the desk for all the folders. People find us because they know the name. We don't do big ads. Just the board outside. If you walk past the main corner, you’ll see it. It’s quiet work mostly. Just keeping track of things and making sure the documents are right. We don't promise miracles, just that we will look at the work and do it. It’s a small team, just a couple of us here every day. We’ve seen the streets get busier over the years. That’s just how it is. It isn't a place for big meetings or shiny presentations. We just use our pens and ledgers to get the job done properly for the folks who live nearby.
