Wilson Garden is one of those areas that feels like it’s been there forever, with its old trees and narrow streets. Venkatesh Dr T K Clinic is at No. 143/39/1 on the 6th Cross. It’s a quiet enough street compared to the main roads, but you still get plenty of local foot traffic. Dr. T K has been seeing people here for quite some time now. The building is older, and the stairs have that worn-down look from years of people walking up and down them every day. Inside, it’s all very basic. We have a desk where we take down names and a few wooden benches for people to wait on. There’s no fancy central air conditioning system that works perfectly all the time, just a few ceiling fans spinning overhead. When the weather gets really hot in the summer, it can get a bit stuffy, but nobody seems to mind it too much. We see everything from common colds to people just needing a routine prescription refill. It’s the kind of place where neighbors run into each other and end up chatting about their families while they wait. We don’t have a big digital system for everything yet; we still use a lot of handwritten notes and paper files stored in folders. It works for us. The 6th Cross is a familiar spot for everyone. We open up the doors in the morning, sweep the front step, and wait for the first person.
