Working in the admin office at Jayashre Nursing Home means things are always moving. We are located at Number 13 on the 1st Main, over in Kalyan Nagar near the Nagarbhavi Main Road. It’s a busy intersection and you can always hear the horns and traffic outside. Our small office is on the 3rd Cross. We handle all the registrations and the paperwork for the patients coming in and out. It’s a lot of filing and making sure the doctors have what they need on their desks. The space is a bit cramped because we have so many files from over the years. We usually have a queue of people waiting to ask about bills or insurance forms. It’s not a quiet job, that’s for sure. The floor is that old tile that we have to mop constantly because people walk in from the street all day. We have a small fan that doesn’t do much in the heat, so we keep the door open. Sometimes the smell of the pharmacy next door drifts in. We spend most of our shift behind the counter. It’s just us trying to keep the records straight while the hospital stays busy around us. We see a lot of families coming through and we just try to get their details entered into the system without making mistakes. It’s a practical kind of job in a very busy part of town and we stay focused.
