Over at Vakil Housing Development Corporation, we’re located near the CV Raman Nagar area, right by the Pune Mumbai Highway at Tuljai Vasti 78. Being so close to the highway means there’s always noise and movement around us. It’s a practical spot for what we do because we’re constantly going back and forth between different housing projects. Development work is mostly about managing a lot of moving parts at once. You have to talk to builders, check on materials, and handle all the little issues that pop up on a construction site. Our office isn’t anything special to look at, just a place where we keep our files and meet up to plan out the next steps. Some days it feels like we’re just chasing our tails with all the regulations and site visits, but that’s just part of the industry. We’ve been around this Tuljai Vasti area for a bit, so we know the local land pretty well. The sun can be brutal when we’re out inspecting sites, and there’s always dust on our shoes by the end of the shift. We don’t spend much time worrying about being fancy; we just want to make sure the houses get built and the paperwork is in order. It’s a lot of long hours and phone calls, but we’re used to the pace by now.
