V M S Engineers

V M S Engineers is based out of number 8 in Peenya. Being in Peenya means we are right in the middle of all the industrial action. It is a huge area, but number 8 is our specific corner of it. The street is usually lined with heavy vehicles and there is always the sound of metal being worked on somewhere nearby. Our workshop is a practical space designed for actual work, not for showing off to visitors. We have our tools and machines set up in a way that makes sense to us, even if it looks a bit cluttered to an outsider. There is a lot of dust and the floors are often stained with oil, which is pretty standard for an engineering spot like this one. We do not have a fancy office with air conditioning or plush carpets. There is just a small cabin in the corner where we keep the blueprints and the invoices. Most of our time is spent on the shop floor anyway. The people working here have been around machines for most of their lives. We take things as they come and try to fix whatever issues pop up during the day. It is a grit-and-grime kind of life, but it suits us well enough. The neighborhood is full of people who work with their hands, so we feel right at home. It is not a place for a quiet chat, but it is where things get built and repaired by real people.
