United Technologists

United Technologists is based out of the Sidco Industrial Estate in Thirumazhisai. We are at unit number 3. Being in an industrial estate means there is always a lot of heavy machinery noise and trucks moving around. It’s the kind of place where people are actually making things. We have been in this spot for a while now. The workshop is where we spend most of our time. It’s not a fancy office with air conditioning everywhere. We have the big rolling doors open to get some air in while we work. Thirumazhisai is a bit out of the main city, so it’s got its own pace. Most of us commute in, and the morning traffic can be a real pain sometimes. We do a lot of technical work here, mostly stuff that involves a lot of precision. It’s not always easy, and sometimes things go wrong, but we just figure it out and keep moving. We aren't big on meetings or long emails. If something needs doing, we just talk about it on the floor and get it started. It’s a practical way of working. The tea break is usually the highlight of the afternoon when we all stand around outside the unit for a few minutes. It’s just a regular bunch of technologists doing our bit and trying to stay on top of the schedule.
