Unitech Engineering

Unitech Engineering is located over in Kamakshi Palya, right on the Magadi Main Road at 65/2. If you know that road, you know it’s one of the main arteries for all kinds of industrial activity in Bangalore. Our workshop isn't anything special to look at from the outside. It’s a functional space with a heavy metal shutter that stays open most of the day to let in some air. The sound of Magadi Road is always there in the background, a mix of buses and heavy trucks passing by. Inside, we have our machines set up for whatever engineering tasks are on the schedule for that week. There is usually a bit of metal shavings on the ground and the smell of cooling oil in the air. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If someone walks in, they usually just talk to whoever is closest to the front. We’ve been in this spot for quite a while now and we’ve seen the neighborhood grow up around us. It’s a gritty, hardworking part of town, and we fit right in. We spend our hours focused on the lathes or the welding kits, making sure the measurements are right. It’s not a quiet job, and your hands are rarely clean by the end of the shift. We just do the work that needs doing and head home when the sun goes down. It’s a simple life.
