My legal practice is located at 869 Indira Nagar, specifically in the Old Binnamangala area on V Cross, 1st Stage. It is a fairly quiet street compared to the main roads of Indira Nagar, which I appreciate when I’m trying to read through thick legal documents. The office is part of an older building, and it has that specific smell of old paper and ink that you find in law offices. I spend a lot of my time sitting behind a large wooden desk that’s covered in files, law journals, and probably too many empty tea cups. People come by to talk about their property issues or family matters, and we just sit and go through the details one by one. There is a small waiting area with a few chairs, though most people just end up standing and talking. The V Cross area has a lot of trees, so it stays a bit cooler even in the summer, which is nice. I usually walk to the local courts or take an auto-rickshaw if I’m running late. It isn’t a corporate firm with glass walls and carpets; it’s just me and a couple of helpers trying to keep the paperwork moving. Sometimes the printer jams or the internet goes slow, and we just have to deal with it as it comes. It’s a simple, steady way of working in a neighborhood that still feels like home.
