Down here in Kerala, things move at their own pace. We are located at Arunammil House in Arambram, which is near Kunnamangalam in the Kozhikode district. It’s a bit of a journey to get out here if you aren't from the area, but it’s a beautiful part of the country. The office is in a house, which gives it a very different feel than a typical city building. We deal with people from all over the local villages, and everyone usually has a story to tell. During the monsoon, the rain hits the roof so loud you can barely hear the person sitting next to you. We just keep our heads down and keep the records straight. The post office is in Padanilam, and we are constantly sending things back and forth. It’s a small operation, but we stay busy because people rely on us to be here. We don't use a lot of big words or complicated processes. We just talk to people in the way they understand and help them out with whatever they came in for. You might see some of us standing outside by the road during a break, watching the buses go by. It’s a simple life, and we like the connection we have with the local community here in Kozhikode. We aren't trying to change the world; we are just making sure the day's work is done right.
