I’m Shivaram A.G. and I handle travel bookings from Varsha PG. It’s House No: 41 on the 2nd Main Road in N.R Colony. This is Basavanagudi, Bangalore-19. It’s a very traditional neighborhood, and I like it that way. I don’t have a big office building. My desk is in a small room here at the PG. It’s a very simple setup with a laptop and a bunch of diaries where I keep track of everything. I’ve been doing this for several years now. Most of my clients are people from the colony or friends of friends. I don't do any big advertising. If someone needs a ticket to Mysore or a flight to Delhi, they just give me a call or walk over. I usually have the window open to let in some air, even if the street noise gets a bit much sometimes. It’s not a polished business. There are stacks of paper everywhere and I usually have a half-eaten plate of biscuits on the side. I do everything myself, from checking the fares to printing the receipts. It’s a bit slow sometimes, and I don’t have any fancy software. But I’m honest with people about the prices and the timings. If a train is full, I’ll tell you straight. It’s just me doing my bit in Basavanagudi. People know where to find me if they need help with their travels. I just try to be helpful.
